LittleFootprint Lighting a great fit at GreenBuild

The GreenBuild Conference and Expo was held in Toronto, Ontario this year but it felt like
home to us. It was exciting and inspiring for us to share an exhibition hall with hundreds
of other companies offering environmentally friendly products that have potential to make
a real difference.

In addition to displaying our HeronLED Personal Task Light, we devoted part of our booth to educating visitors about how e-waste can be recycled and transformed into new products like our lamp. We also highlighted the importance of ensuring that when we make the effort to recycle e-waste, it is handled by e-Stewards, recyclers that adhere to the highest standard of environmental responsibility and worker protection.
We get the recycled plastic we injection mold to make our lamps from California-based MBA Polymers, the world leader at producing sustainably mined plastics from end-of-life durable goods. The samples on display here show the major phases of processing e-waste, from plastics rich electronic shredder residue, the so called “raw feed” – chopped up e-waste supplied by metal recyclers – to the final product – the UL-HB recognized post-consumer EVOSOURCE™ ABS resin – that we use to make our task lights
